Birdies & Brews Case Study · Website Transformation

From dated to tee-time ready.

A complete digital transformation for Birdies & Brews. We took a mobile golf simulator business that was buried inside an apparel shop and gave it a home built entirely around what it actually sells.

The Challenge

Birdies & Brews had a real business.
Its old website never said so.

Before a pixel changed, we went through the old site the way a visitor would. Six things stood between the business and the people trying to book it.

No page of its own

The golf simulator rental - the actual business - lived as one lead form bolted onto an apparel shop, with no page dedicated to it anywhere on the site.

Zero packages or pricing

Nothing on the old site said what a rental costs, what is included, or how long a session runs - a visitor had to ask just to find out.

No FAQ, no answers

Space requirements, player counts, deposits, service area - real questions guests actually have, with no answers published anywhere.

No video of the experience

A golf simulator is something you watch in action. The old site had no footage of it running at all.

Search visibility gaps

The site’s own metadata described a t-shirt shop, not a golf simulator rental company - because that is genuinely what the page was built to sell.

Not built for AI search

No packages, hours or FAQ in a form AI assistants can read, so they had nothing to work with when asked about the business.

The Audit

Before we touched a pixel, we measured.

We saved a copy of the old site and audited it - and we’ll tell you what it did right, too. Here is the honest scorecard, old versus new.

Area
Original site
Rebuilt site
Tells Google it’s a golf simulator rental business
Generic Organization only - names it a shop
LocalBusiness & Service, area served, price range
Packages published as data
No packages, no prices, anywhere on the site
3 packages, priced, in an OfferCatalog
Answers AI can quote
No FAQ section or FAQ schema at all
6 structured questions and answers
Video content
None - product photos only
2 videos showing the simulator in action
The business, on its own page
One shared homepage: a t-shirt store with a lead form
A full site built entirely around the rental business
What the metadata says it sells
“Shop polos, hats, golf towels” - never mentions the simulator
“Bring a pro-grade golf simulator to your event”
Homepage code weight
150.8 KB of HTML, 52 external scripts
98 KB, 2 scripts - lighter and simpler
Image descriptions for Google
8 of 10 homepage images described (80%)
10 of 10 images described (100%)
Site structure
39 URLs - real Shopify catalog tooling, credit due
1 page, 8 sections, built around the business itself

Every row above was checked on saved copies of both sites, captured the same day. Where the old site already did something right - Shopify’s own canonicals, page titles and even an AI-facing llms.txt file - the table says so.

The Transformation drag the divider!

Drag the divider. The new site is live.

The left side is a saved copy of Birdies & Brews’ old homepage - the old site blocks live framing, so this is the archived page, not a live trick. The right side is the redesign, live right now. Judge the transformation yourself.

BEFOREAFTER - LIVE

The homepage - the whole old site fit on one page. Every section of the new site got the same treatment - tap a card below to compare it full screen.

Every section, before and after.

Tap a section to open the full-screen comparison - the old site is genuinely one page, so every card compares the new site’s section against that same saved page.

Mobile First

For most guests, the first look
happens on a phone.

So the redesign was built for the phone first. The left screen is the same saved copy of the old site, shown at iPhone size - it blocks live framing, so this is the archived page, not a live trick. The right screen is the new site itself, loaded live at phone size - video playing.

The Scope

This wasn’t a new coat of paint.

Here is what was actually delivered inside the 24 hours.

Complete redesign

A full one-page site built entirely around the rental business - not a template with new colors.

Custom mobile experience

Layouts tuned separately for small screens, where first impressions are usually made.

Conversion architecture

Book, see packages, read the FAQ - one tap from anywhere on the page.

Custom visual assets

The business’s own simulator, bay and swing photography, used throughout.

Real video

2 videos of the simulator actually running - no film crew, no shoot day.

Technical SEO foundation

Title, description, canonical, sitemap and robots directives, built for the actual business.

Local search structure

Service type, area served and price range written in the format Google reads.

AI-readable answers

Packages and a 6-question FAQ structured so assistants can quote them.

Built for the Actual Business

One business. Every way to book it.

Instead of one generic page, the new site gives each part of the business - each package, each setup option, the merch shop - its own place to sell itself. Tap any of them to jump to that part of the live site.

Each card above is a real part of the new site, with its own content and its own path to book.

Launch Readiness

Ready for launch.

No made-up traffic charts. Just what is finished, checked and waiting for the go-ahead.

The Math

What would a project like this
normally require?

Published industry pricing puts a professional build for a local service business like this at $4,000 to $15,000, plus $50 to $150 a month for basic care - and that’s before video and every future edit are billed on top.
